LAGO MARTIANEZ
Tribute to de Sea

Despite having received numerous names over time, "Homenaje al Mar", translated as Tribute to the Sea, was the name with which César Manrique baptized this monument, from the first sketches, to the invitations that the lucky guests received at the inauguration of "Lago Martiánez".

Located in the centre of the lake's children's pool, it has become, alongside "La Jibia", one of the favorite places for the little ones to play, this being one of Manrique's premises during its construction: that it could be touched, felt, and enjoyed, not just been a purely aesthetic and decorative object.

Its curves and nooks, which seem to emulate the sea in motion, contrast with the large size of the monument. It is made of a structure of wood sheets and shredded lava, covered with concrete.

It is in its own right one of the most noticeable and photographed elements not only by those who visit us, but also by anyone who takes a walk through Puerto de la Cruz and sees it from a distance.
